This past Saturday I had the honor and pleasure to experience a long-in-the-making event I helped curate as part of this years Soundwave ((5)) Humanities, an innovative art’s and music biennial. The show was graciously hosted at the Julia Morgan designed SF Zen Center, and co-sponsored by Bay Area tastemakers The Bold Italic. There were mind-blowing performances by Bay Area’s Marielle V. Jakobsons, EN, and Los Angelos based Sean McCann spread throughout the coarse of the evening in the Buddha Hall, the garden atrium, and the dining hall. We had delicious vegetarian treats donated by Zen Center-affiliates Greens Restaurant, Rainbow Grocery provided sweet treats, a walking tour of the center, a listening station, and led mediation in a variety of practices – sitting, walking, and chanting. The turnout was nuts – it SOLD OUT! Couldn’t have asked for a better event to be a part of. HUGE THANKS to Alan, Jorge and all the Soundwave volunteers, the incredible generosity from David, Shundo, Kate, Tova, and the extended Zen Center community, the musicians, and the audience of people who came with open ears and hearts. It was magic, a dream!
Much Love,
Danny
