Danny Paul Grody is a solo musician and founding member of San Francisco-based bands Tarentel and The Drift . He is a self taught guitarist, and the melodies at the core of Danny’s songwriting bring to mind his love of West African kora, Takoma-style fingerpicking and all things minimal, repetitive & hypnotic.
His first solo album, Fountain, was released in 2010 on Root Strata followed up by full-lengths In Search of Light (Students of Decay, 2011), Between Two Worlds (Three Lobed Records, 2013), Sketch for Winter VI: Other States (Geographic North, 2016), and Sunrise, Looking East (Longform Editions, 2019).
He has contributed to several compilations including Eight Trails, One Path (Three Lobed Recordings), Imaginational Anthem Vol. 5 (Tompkins Square), and A Little Night Music: Aural Apparitions from the Geographic North (Geographic North).
