Announcing new album + lead-off single + video!!!

I am overjoyed to announce the arrival of my new album, Arc of Day, taking flight June 16th on Three Lobed Recordings! You can hear the first single, Light Blooms, on all digi platforms and watch a video by Ian Albert via the Uncut premiere here.

Finding the words to describe how much this album means does not come easy, but here goes…

One of the single greatest aspects to making music is getting to share it… to set something free and watch it take on a life all its own is something I will never take for granted. Even more life affirming is getting to share the creative process with others and witnessing something entirely new emerge. This was my intention from the get-go and Arc of Day is the result of that effort.

I am incredibly grateful to Rich Douthit (percussion), Chuck Johnson (pedal steel), Jonathan Sielaff (clarinet), and Trevor Montgomery (bass) for joining me and truly helping to elevate the music. Mega thanks also goes to collaborators, Billy Joe Miller, for gracing the album cover with his stunning painting, Donal Mosher for writing a beautiful forward, D. Norsen for his impeccable design skills, the Brothers Chinese Recordings (Jay and Ian) for vividly capturing this music in a studio setting (a first for DPG!), Carl Saff for his mastering wizardry, the amazing team (women-owned!) at Gold Rush Vinyl, and to Cory Rayborn for giving this music a home and for steadfast belief in what I do.

You can listen to “Light Blooms” on your preferred streaming service. The full album is available for pre-order on Bandcamp (180 black or orange LP, digital) or from your favorite retailer.

Featured in Terrascopædia issue 20!

Thrilled to receive my physical copy of the latest issue of Terrascopædia 20 in the mail today and I must say it’s exquisite! Very thankful to head proprietor, Phil McMullen, for reaching out to me, and to be included amongst such fine company. Only 150 copies were produced. Each copy is entirely hand made from cover to cover, typeset one letter at a time and printed in full color on a fully restored 1926 vintage press (AKA labor of love – learn more about the process here). Not surprisingly, it tends to sell out quick so I’ve included some snaps from the interview where I discuss past/present/future releases, including some new and exciting music on the horizon 😅💫✨

As always, thanks for listening and supporting!

First show of the year at Ratio 3 SF!

Truly honored to be invited to play among the beautiful ceramic worlds of friend/artist, James Sterling Pitt, as we celebrate the closing of his expansive exhibition, Ways, at Ratio 3 in San Francisco, California. It is my first show of the year and will be joined by longtime sonic traveler, Rich Douthit on percussion. It would mean the world to share this moment with you!

Much love,

DPG

Announcing “Other States” vinyl REISSUE!

Very excited to partner with Debacle records for a vinyl edition of “Other States”, originally released on cassette via Geographic Norths’s wonderfully-curated “Sketch for Winter” series, and now lovingly remastered for LP by Chuck Johnson with new artwork by longtime friend and collaborator, Billy Joe Miller.

This music would not exist without the confluence of so many amazing people and experiences (visit link for more detailed context) including Paul Clipson, James Sterling Pitt, Bobby and Farbod, along with so many who helped this music come to life.

Preorder now / Nov. 4th official release!

Thank you as ever for listening and supporting!

With love,

DPG

New song, ‘September Flower’ …

Grateful to share a new song, ‘September Flower’, as part of the Amazon Original series (curated by Stephen Brower) with contributions from the likes of Laraaji, Roger Eno, among others. Hope you enjoy what you hear and I encourage you to check out all the artists contributions! ✨🥀✨

Introducing Field Sessions!

Very excited to introduce the first batch Field Sessions in collaboration with friend and cinematographer, Ian Albert! The intention of this ongoing series is to capture live recordings in natural settings and unusual spaces throughout the San Francisco / Bay Area. These first pieces were filmed at the majestic Mile Rock Beach at Lands End in SF. It’s been a lot of fun to dive in and take full advantage of the beauty that surrounds this place I’m lucky to call home. I hope you enjoy what you see and hear. New pieces will be added to my Youtube channel playlist, so please keep an eye out for more to come…

As always, thank you for listening!
